About
Dana Udumulla
Founder of Alternative Investor Insights. A thoughtful, independent voice on capital and investing beyond traditional markets.

Background
Understanding How Capital Actually Works
Dana founded Alternative Investor Insights around a simple belief: sophisticated investing begins with understanding how capital actually works.
Based in Austin, Texas, she serves as Vice President of Capital Formation & Strategic Relations at ZT Corporate and as Managing Partner, Strategy and Operations at Cost Recovery Experts, where her work centers on private market opportunities and advanced tax-saving strategies for sophisticated investors.
Earlier in her career she was Head of Strategic Relations and, before that, Investments Manager at Madison Trust Company, working closely with self-directed retirement investors — experience that shapes how she thinks about retirement capital and long-duration assets today. She holds a Master of Finance and Accounting (MFinA) and the Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP) designation.
Her work sits at the intersection of private markets, retirement capital, alternative investments, and tax-efficient wealth strategies.
Dana spends much of her time speaking with investors, business owners, operators, and investment professionals about how capital is deployed, how businesses and assets create value, and how investors can evaluate opportunities beyond traditional markets.
Through this platform, she shares research, observations, and conversations designed to make complex investment topics easier to understand. The views here are her own and are offered for education, not as advice or as the position of any organization she is affiliated with.

Why This Platform Exists
Clarity Before Conviction
Access to investment opportunities has expanded. The quality of investor understanding has not always kept pace.
Alternative Investor Insights exists to close that gap through clear education, careful questions, and perspective grounded in how capital is structured and put to work.
The goal is not to promote an investment. It is to help readers understand the forces shaping markets and engage in more thoughtful conversations about long-term wealth creation.
